My Work Empowering Disabled Athletes to Transform Their Lives

I also work to help amputees and others who have suffered great physical and mental trauma to transform their lives and reach their goals in life through sport, particularly through climbing and mountaineering. A good example of success in this effort is our friend Nawang Sherpa, who climbed Mount Everest (Chomolungma) with my husband in 2004 to become the first person to climb the peak using a prosthetic leg.
Here is more information about Nawang Sherpa and our Friendship Beyond Borders Expeditions.
I am currently working with Nawang Sherpa to establish a new non-profit organization that will allow him to help other amputees and others who are struggling to recover from grave physical and mental trauma.
